ASQ launched its redesigned website, www.asq.org, by premiering a new home page July 20. The home page is one of the first steps in ASQ’s full-scale website rebuild, which aligns with ASQ’s recent brand transformation as The Global Voice of Quality™. ASQ.org was viewed by 3.2 million unique visitors in the last year.
The new home page features interactive and rich-media content that brings quality ideas, tools, resources and social networking to the global quality community. Visitors will have direct access to the portal for global quality through streamlined design and easier navigation. The website is also optimized for mobile device access. Central to the home page redesign is a visually appealing, content-packed “carousel” that includes a rotation of articles and case studies, features from ASQ’s Quality Progress magazine, the View From the Q blog by CEO Paul Borawski, Quality for Life™ stories, research studies, videos, ASQ advocacy efforts and more. The carousel includes features and developments from ASQ’s National Service Centers in India, China and Mexico, and from Local Member Communities and ASQ World Partners in more than 80 countries.
The redesigned home page also features:
• A Featured Headlines section, which includes quality-themed news stories, ASQ news, and case studies from the Quality Body of Knowledge®. • A Community section that helps visitors and ASQ members network, learn, and share ideas with the worldwide quality community. This section includes prominent links to ASQ’s more than 120 social networking communities with 14,000 members. It also features a simple way for visitors and members to locate geographic ASQ sections and industry-based forums and divisions. • Integration with ASQ’s social media channels on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and ASQ’s Influential Voices blogging initiative, to allow visitors to discuss and share content.
• A rotational panel that highlights certification and training resources, and a portfolio of ASQ Quality Press books, conferences, events and new products.
The website redesign will be ongoing, with other enhancements to include: • A powerful integrated search function. • An improved experience for mobile devices and tablet computers. • Streamlined navigation that allows visitors to easily access the best quality resources online. “The redesigned website will share the stories of quality practitioners who improve communities worldwide through the impact of quality,” said ASQ CEO Paul Borawski. “The aim of the new site is to become a portal of the global quality movement. We’re also improving the member experience for individual, Site and Enterprise members by helping them access quality tools in ASQ’s Knowledge Center and ASQ’s Learning Institute™. In the coming months, we look forward to transforming www.asq.org to an unparalleled quality resource.”
Website Contest
As a way to highlight the new home page and its features, ASQ is hosting a social media contest July 20–24. A daily trivia question about the home page will be posted on ASQ’s Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn profiles. Participants will have a chance to win an e-reader loaded with the latest ASQ Quality Press book, Lean Acres: A Tale of Strategic Innovation and Improvement in a Farm-iliar Setting. The contest is open to ASQ members and nonmembers. About ASQ
