There is still time to visit the 47th Bangkok International Motor Show, which continues to generate strong momentum at its halfway mark, reflecting sustained consumer interest in the automotive industry despite ongoing economic uncertainties, including purchasing power constraints and household debt.
The 2026 theme is “THE ICONIC SYNCHRONICITY”, showcasing a unique integration of technology, innovation, and design, while affirming the potential of Thailand’s automotive industry in the transition of the modern era, including the motor show’s pivotal role as propelling of Thailand’s economic stability and sustainability, and driving Thailand’s industry toward a digital and green economy.
This year, 45 automotive and motorcycle companies are participating, comprising 37 car brands and 8 motorcycle brands. At least 10 new models have been launched, covering electric vehicles and alternative energy vehicles to meet the evolving needs of modern consumers.

Total vehicle bookings in the first half of the event have exceeded 40,000 units.
Jaturont Komolmis, Vice Chairman of the event, stated that booking figures during the first half have reached a satisfactory level. Key factors driving market activity include the launch of new vehicle models within the show, as well as intensified promotional campaigns from automotive brands. These campaigns—ranging from special interest rates and exclusive giveaways to comprehensive maintenance packages—have helped reduce long-term ownership costs and made purchasing decisions more accessible for consumers.
As of the midpoint, total bookings reached 41,778 units, representing a significant increase of 68.8% compared to the previous year.
At the same time, the continued entry and expansion of international automotive brands in the Thai market have played an important role in energizing the event. These brands are introducing new technologies alongside competitive pricing, offering consumers a wider range of choices—particularly in the alternative energy vehicle segment, which has emerged as the most in-demand category.
Visitor attendance has remained consistently strong, especially over weekends. This indicates that, despite economic headwinds, demand for vehicle ownership remains intact. However, consumers are exercising greater caution in their decision-making.
A large proportion of attendees are considered to have genuine purchasing intent rather than visiting purely for leisure, contributing to higher-quality bookings.
Looking ahead, organizers anticipate that the second half of the event—particularly the final week—will see an acceleration in booking volumes. This is driven by consumers finalizing decisions after comparing offers across multiple brands, combined with increasingly competitive promotional campaigns typically introduced toward the end of the show.
Overall, the mid-event performance underscores the resilience and potential of Thailand’s automotive market, which continues to attract strong consumer engagement despite prevailing economic challenges.

The public and all interested visitors are warmly invited to experience the latest automotive innovations that cater to every lifestyle and help shape the future of mobility at the 47th Bangkok International Motor Show, taking place from March 25 to April 5, 2026, at IMPACT Challenger Hall 1–3, Muang Thong Thani.
Komolmis says this year’s motor show focuses on strengthening connectivity among automotive manufacturers, technology, and global markets in order to support the digital and green economy, in alignment with Thailand’s automotive industry direction toward electric vehicles (EVs) and the full transition to advanced technologies.
In light of the prevailing geopolitical tensions among the United States, Israel, and Iran, which may have potential implications for the global economy, the organizers recognize this development as an external factor that warrants close and prudent monitoring. The effective management of any resulting impacts will require coordinated collaboration and the implementation of appropriate policy measures at the governmental level.
Notwithstanding these external uncertainties, Thailand’s automotive industry remains steadfast in its commitment to enhancing and advancing its manufacturing capabilities in order to preserve its position as a principal production hub within the region. The continued development of alternative energy vehicles alongside increasingly efficient internal combustion engine vehicles reflects the industry’s resilience, adaptability, and the breadth and diversity of the market landscape.
A key highlight is the participation of newly introduced electric vehicle brands in the Thai market, including CHERY, LEPAS, FIREFLY, FORTHING, and TESLA, all joining the show for the first time. Their presence reflects strong global confidence in Thailand’s automotive market potential.

Apparently, all exhibitors have adjusted their pricing strategy and introduced attractive financing terms to support consumers in their purchasing decisions, including affordable prices, promotional campaigns, or flexible installment programs, making it easier for them to own a car.
These offers directly benefit consumers and serve as a key driver in increasing sales and stimulating Thailand’s overall economic circulation. Based on these developments, the organizers predict that the Motor Show will generate 10% more revenue compared with previous years.
Anothai Eamlumnow, Vice Chairman of the 47th Bangkok International Motor Show, said “In addition to the wide selection of cars, motorcycles, modern technologies, and accessories available for visitors to experience and purchase, the organizers have also arranged a variety of activities to enhance the visitors’ experience of all segments namely Grand Prix Runbike Championship with RCS (Run Bike Championship Series).”
Besides the competition, many other special activities will be taking place, including the 30th Anniversary Celebration of XO Autosport, where key figures in the modified car communities get together. Visitors will also enjoy souvenir giveaways and other activities such as JDM & Custom Culture, an outdoor showcase highlighting JDM cars and uniquely modified vehicles in a lively open-air atmosphere.
Anothai added “For visitors interested in test-driving their preferred models, the organizers have prepared a Test Drive Area by the lakeside at Muang Thong Thani to accommodate test drives of new models from a wide range of brands. This dedicated test drive area is set in an open space, specifically designed to test vehicle’s performance.

This activity allows participants to have firsthand experience with each vehicle’s performance that close to real-life driving situation as much as possible. This is another outstanding highlight that further enhances and completes this year’s Motor Show experience.”

History of the Bangkok International Motor Show
Drawing on his successful experience owning the renowned Grand Prix magazine, Dr. Prajin Eiamlamnao conceived the idea of organizing a motor show in Thailand.
He organized the first motor show, MOTOR SHOW ’79, occupying a limited area of 16,200 square meters, marking the beginning of Thai motor shows. Held from May 2-6, 1979, the event was graciously opened by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn. The proceeds from the 3-baht entrance tickets were donated to the Duang Prateep Foundation.
“From the very first moment, I could see a path to success, and I was warmly welcomed by car companies and the Thai people,” he says.
