Visteon Corporation (NYSE: VC) is presenting its infotainment and display technologies featured on Mazda’s award-winning cross-vehicle line including the Mazda2, Mazda3 and Mazda Axela at Electronica 2014, Munich, Germany, from Nov. 11-14.
Â
Visteon’s advanced infotainment system and industry-first automotive tablet display are part of Mazda’s class-leading connectivity concept, which recently contributed to the Mazda2 being named Japan’s Car of the Year 2014-15 and the Mazda3’s first ranking in the German publication Autobild’s Connected Car Index.
Â
Visteon’s advanced infotainment system allows drivers to seamlessly connect their mobile devices to make and receive calls and text messages, stream audio, access social media and more – all while helping them navigate safely to their destination.
Â
The infotainment system can be controlled using natural language voice recognition, a commander knob or the consumer electronics styled 7-inch capacitive touch tablet information display, also supplied by Visteon. This industry-first automotive tablet display incorporates a flat, touch-capable, protective surface that provides the durability necessary for the demanding automobile environment.
Â
“The infotainment solution offers an improved user experience for drivers and passengers,” said Bob Vallance, vice president, global customer groups, Visteon Electronics. “The system can also accept software updates at the dealership or through a customer-accessible website.”
Â
This global platform features scalability and cost efficiencies for virtually any region or application and continues to spread across the Mazda vehicle lineup.
