Columbus Foundry Earns Supplier-of-the-Year Award from Delphi

Award recognizes commitment to customer service and focus on continuous improvement at Georgia plant

INTERMET Corporation’s Domestic Ferrous Group announced that its Columbus, Ga., foundry has received the 2006 Best Supplier Award from Delphi Corporation. The ductile-iron foundry was recognized by Delphi for providing products “with an unquestionable commitment to customer service.”

Steve Lake, president of INTERMET’s Domestic Ferrous Group, said, “We are very pleased that Delphi has recognized our strong commitment to total customer satisfaction. Our Columbus team has worked diligently to achieve this award and we will strive to maintain the highest level of excellence.”

In presenting the award, Delphi officials noted that INTERMET’s Columbus Foundry was very responsive to their needs, “pro-actively communicating issues as well as having a continuous-improvement focus.”

The Columbus facility, which is the company’s largest foundry, casts ductile-iron components primarily for automotive customers. The plant received the Delphi award for steering knuckles manufactured for a major full- size pickup truck and SUV program.

INTERMET’s Stevensville PCPC(TM) Plant in Stevensville, Mich., part of the company’s PCPC Group, also earned the Delphi Best Supplier Award for 2006.
