BorgWarner Morse TEC’s Indian joint venture has received the Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) Supplier Award for Best Performance in Product Development, for the new chain-driven timing system it supplies for the award-winning Scorpio SUV.
“The Scorpio SUV is M&M’s flagship product, and it has been very well- received in the international markets in which it has been introduced,” said Alfred Weber, President and General Manager, BorgWarner Morse TEC. “We are proud of this prestigious recognition from one of India’s foremost vehicle manufacturers, and even more proud of the benefits in NVH performance that our chain technology brings to the Scorpio and the Mahindra customers who drive it.”
BorgWarner Morse TEC is a global leader in the design and manufacturing of automotive chain systems and components for engine timing, automatic transmission and four-wheel drive applications. BorgWarner Morse TEC engineers in Chennai, India; Ithaca, New York; and Arcore, Italy collaborated in developing the timing system for the Scorpio.
In addition to the Morse TEC operation in Chennai, BorgWarner operates production and distribution facilities from joint ventures in Pune and Sirsi, India.
