Comau is joining Rockwell Automation at the 30th annual Automation Fair® event, November 10th – 11th in Houston, Texas, at the George R. Brown Convention Center.
Since launching their collaboration last April, Comau’s 4-axis robots are being integrated with the Rockwell Automation platform with the aim of generating sound industrial value creation for customers worldwide. From the ability to design and control robot lines using a common programming environment to the perfect synchronization of the robots, machine flows and peripherals, the optimized connectivity will allow customers to enjoy increased production rates, faster deployment times and better recovery speeds if needed.
The companies will demonstrate the seamless integration of the Rebel-S SCARA robot from Comau and the iTRAK® intelligent track system from Rockwell Automation. The high-speed precision of the Rebel-S for Pick & Place activities represents just one of the initiatives the companies are jointly developing to help businesses maximize their manufacturing efficiencies through unified robot control solutions. Additionally, at Comau’s booth number 2219, the company will display the indoor-outdoor functionality of its MATE-XT wearable exoskeleton, which is proven to reduce biomechanical loads during strenuous or repetitive activities.
The Automation Fair® event is also the Ideal venue to give attendees a first look at its newest industrial robot, Racer-5 SENSITIVE ENVIRONMENTS (to be launched in the coming months and available early 2022), designed expressly for the sensitive conditions that characterize the pharmaceutical, health & beauty, and food & beverage industries. The ruggedized 6-axis articulated robot, which features a 5 kg payload, an 809 mm reach, and a protective water, heat, and grease-resistant coating, responds to the market’s request for IP67 certification, high-grade ISO Cleanroom classification, protection from chemical agents and the need to reduce the risk of contamination. With high-speed accuracy and repeatability, the solution also helps increase product quality and reduce the potential for human-related error or contamination. Further benefits of the dedicated robot include reduced operator risk when working with potentially harmful chemicals and substances, reduced operating expenses, and increased production volumes.
“Comau is proud to be a Gold Technology member of Rockwell Automation’s PartnerNetwork™,” said Gaia Salvadore, Robotics and Automation Products Segment Leader. “The increasing integration of our robot technology with the Rockwell management environment goes hand-in-hand with Comau’s commitment to simplifying automation, and represents a key enabler in accelerating the creation of long-term value for our customers.”
