2021 Automotive Industry Manufacturing Costs

Operating Costs in 15 Auto Industry Hubs Surveyed in New BizCosts.com Report

A new BizCosts.com report of The Boyd Company, Inc., identifies 15 major hubs of the global automotive industry and charts comparative production costs (labor, real estate and utilities) in those markets. (See Figure 1).

Annual operating costs in Boyd’s new 2021 BizCosts® Benchmark Snapshot range from a high of $46.9 million in Fremont, CA, to a low of $19.0 million in Guanajuato, Mexico – an operating cost differential of 59.4 percent. (See Figure 2).
