RM Sotheby’s is thrilled to offer a 2005 Ford GT owned from new by American rock ‘n roll icon, Kid Rock, in Fort Lauderdale 25-26 March. Joining the stunning red GT is a guitar signed by Kid Rock himself.
Immensely proud of its storied history, Ford Motor Company created the Ford GT to celebrate its 100th anniversary. Production of each Ford GT involved multiple facilities and at its heart was Ford’s all-aluminum 5.4-liter V-8 equipped, capable of producing 550 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque. A top speed of 205 mph and a 0-60 sprint of 3.3 seconds elevated the GT into the same echelon as other period supercars.
An instant American icon upon its debut, this 2005 Ford GT counts another American icon—Kid Rock—as its sole owner from new. Leaving the factory straight to Kid Rock’s garage finished in Mark IV Red with full stripes, it was one of only 669 finished as such for the 2005 model year.
With its stunning retro-inspired design and breathtaking power, the Ford GT has been a highly sought-after model since its release. This four-option, Mark IV Red example’s low mileage, excellent condition, and truly one-of-a-kind ownership history make it an opportunity not to be missed (Estimate: $500,000 – $575,000).
