Nexteer Automotive, a global leader in advanced steering and driveline systems, announced today that its manufacturing facility in Suzhou has been awarded Q1 certification from Ford Motor Company. An on-site audit of the Nexteer Suzhou facility by Ford earlier this year in March verified that the company had successfully implemented the quality management system necessary for Q1 status, enabling Nexteer Suzhou to become the first supplier to receive this honor from Ford Asia Pacific in 2016. Nexteer Suzhou supplies REPS products for Ford in addition to other automotive markets.
The Q1 Award, Ford’s recognition of organizations that have achieved a continued level of product quality and excellence, distinguishes Nexteer as a preferred supplier. To achieve Q1 certification, Ford suppliers must meet stringent criteria.
Liu Tao, Vice President and COO of Nexteer Asia Pacific division, said, “Raising the Ford Q1 flag on this facility is not only a celebration of Nexteer’s growth and performance, but also a recognition of the joint efforts of all Nexteer staffs. It also reflects our commitment to always providing our customers with high-quality products and services, and our staff’s high sense of responsibility in the pursuit of excellent quality.”
With the quality principle of “Take action for quality, it’s everyone’s job”, Nexteer always puts quality first. Besides the quality culture which is carried out through daily work with total involvement, Nexteer holds global “Quality Culture Week” annually, launching various forms of activities focused on quality theme in order to strengthen employees’ quality awareness. This time, depending on excellent product quality and delivery service, within just four months and more, Nexteer passed the four key aspects of Q1 Certificate – capable system, ongoing performance, MSA (Manufacturing Site Assessment), and customer endorsement. As the Ford Q1 flag flys high in front of Nexteer Suzhou, the cooperation between Nexteer and Ford has stepped on a new level.
