AUTOMOTIVE QUARTZ CRYSTAL RESONATOR FROM MURATA OFFERS DECREASED FOOTPRINT AND EFFECTIVE PRICE-POINT

Value of XRCHA Series Surpasses Traditional Competitive Products

Murata Americas introduced another member of its Hybrid Crystal Resonator (HCR) solution family, the 2520 size XRCHA series. Developed specifically for automotive applications, this 100 percent quartz crystal unit meets the stringent reliability requirements for this market. The crystal resonator offers frequency precision of +/- 250ppm, with nominal operating frequencies in the 12MHz to 24MHz range, and an operating temperature of -40C to +125C. Measuring just 2.5mm x 2.0mm x0.8mm, the XRCHA series is also AEC-Q200 qualified and RoHS compliant.

These characteristics enable the automotive HCR to meet the frequency accuracy required for powertrain and safety applications, as well as for CAN Bus and Flexray in-vehicle networks. In addition to a 2520 package, the crystal resonator also delivers improved ESR levels. These features afford design engineers with one of the most robust and cost competitive products available in a compact size.

“Today’s automotive market is continually shaped by factors such as advanced applications, the demand for a decreased footprint and cost, and the ability to maintain high reliability in a harsh operating environment. Through Murata’s exclusive packaging technology, the XRCHA series achieves this, offering an all-around superior product,” said Amanda Milewski, Business Development Engineer, Device Product, Murata Americas.

Pricing for the XRCHA series starts at $0.425 in small quantities, with a lead time of 10 weeks. For more information, please contact Murata sales through www.murata-americas.com.
