Stackpole’s RNCS Series of precision resistors has a nichrome element that is passivated to protect it from corrosion due to humidity and moisture. The result is a precision resistor that performs as well as tantalum nitride based resistors at a much lower cost. The RNCS Series can withstand 3000 hours at 85 degrees C / 85% RH and 10% bias as well as 100 hours at 120 degrees C / 100% RH and 2 atm pressure with minimal resistance shift.
The RNCS Series is a great choice for a wide variety of precision resistor requirements for end products such as portable test equipment, portable medical devices and monitors, precision power monitoring and control, industrial and commercial motor controls, battery management, communications testing and monitoring, automotive control, and automotive audio applications.
The RNCS Series is available in sizes from 0402 to 2512, in resistance values ranging from 10 ohm to 1Meg ohm. This series offers tolerances down to 0.1% and TCR values as low as 15 ppm / C for a limited value range.
Pricing is size, resistance value, tolerance, and TCR dependent and ranges from $0.016 to $0.23 each in full reel quantities. Contact Stackpole or one of our franchised distributor partners for volume pricing.
