Continental Structural Plastics Expands Global Manufacturing Capabilities

Composites technology leader gains manufacturing assets to support European and global customers

Continental Structural Plastics (CSP) announced today it has signed a framework agreement to lease manufacturing floor space in Pouance, France. Additionally, the agreement includes the purchase of assets from a composites manufacturer that was formerly located in the facility CSP will lease. The agreement helps boost CSP’s existing global manufacturing and customer support capabilities.

“The Pouance acquisition improves CSP’s ability to provide our customers with exceptional global support in terms of manufacturing and service,” said Frank Macher, chairman and CEO of CSP. “The agreement expands our global network, increases CSP’s manufacturing capacity and provides us with the opportunity to expand our customer base in Europe in the near future.”

The agreement includes 120,000 square-feet (11,148 square-meters) of floor space, three compression molding presses, 12 thermoplastic injection presses and one thermoset injection unit, as well as supporting equipment. Staffing of the facility has started and production is expected to begin later this year.
