UBM India Announces its 1st Auto Conference

UBM India’s Auto 2013 conference will be taking place on 16 May 2013 at Radisson Blu,Chennai, India. This conference aims to aid OEMs to deliver on customer perception parameters by upgrading R&D, quality and procurement functions with latest technologies and integrating with suppliers to source cost-effective and high quality parts.

Mr Venugopal Krishnamoorthy (Head – Supplier Quality Engineering, Chrysler India) foresees the future of the auto industry as ‘highly competitive, survival of the fittest, giving more importance to innovation and cutting cost without compromising on quality. In Asia, India emerges clearly as a growth engine because of its best cost country advantage’. The Indian automotive industry is growing steadily at 13% and is eyeing a growth rate of 15% by 2013.

Auto 2013 conference comprises of 3 parallel tracks discussing top challenges of the industry. Each track is dedicated to a function such as R&D, quality and procurement. Some of the top topics of discussion include upcoming 2015 emission norms, hybrid and electric propulsion systems, managing tier 2 and tier 3 suppliers, customer’s perception of quality, government policies for the auto industry, enhancing customer affordability and many more.
