Air Products’ (NYSE: APD) hydrogen fueling technology is the exclusive fueling supplier for the ride-n-drive events at the World Hydrogen Energy Conference 2012 being held this week (June 3-7) in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Air Products is providing its mobile hydrogen fueling technology to fuel the hydrogen fuel cell vehicles of several automobile manufacturers participating in the media and public ride-n-drive opportunities held in the Yonge Dundas Square in Toronto.
“We are pleased to provide the fueling for this segment of the World Hydrogen Energy Conference. Our mobile hydrogen fueling technology is ideal for demonstration events like ride-n-drives and is often the choice for customers wanting to conduct hydrogen fueling evaluations before transitioning to our permanent hydrogen fueling station technology,” said Nick Mittica, commercial manager – Hydrogen Energy Systems at Air Products. “Ride-n-drives are an excellent way for people to get the experience of driving a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle and to realize first-hand that the capability for hydrogen fueling is here today.”
“The Canadian Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association (CHFCA) is very happy to have Air Products as the hydrogen fueler for the ride-n-drive events during our World Hydrogen Energy Conference,” said Terry Kimmel, vice president of the CHFCA. In addition to the ride-n-drive opportunity in the Yonge Dundas Square, there are also informational sessions conducted and educational material on display to increase awareness of the hydrogen and fuel cell sector.
The mobile hydrogen fueler is part of the diverse portfolio of hydrogen fueling technologies deployed by Air Products around the world. The versatile technology comes complete with fuel storage and dispensing, and can be transported from location to location to provide hydrogen fueling for both short and long-term fueling needs. The fueler can be remotely monitored and is designed to provide daily, around-the-clock hydrogen vehicle fueling availability. It is able to dispense hydrogen without the need for a utility hook-up as solar panels on the top of the fuelers provide the electrical power for the dispensing unit. In all, Air Products has 20 mobile fuelers at locations in North America. Details on Air Products’ portfolio of hydrogen fueling station technologies are provided at www.airproducts.com/h2energy.
