ETV Motors Ltd., a developer of advanced electric vehicle (EV) propulsion technology, announced that its Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and co-founder Dr. Arieh Meitav will lead a discussion on innovative power generation and energy storage technologies for electric vehicles at the Eilat-Eilot Renewable Energy Conference (Eilat, Israel, Herods & Dan Hotels, February 16-18, 2010).
Dr. Meitav’s presentation, “Novel Power Generator and Energy Storage Technologies for Electrical Powertrains,” is scheduled for Thursday, February 18, at 10:00 AM. During this session, Dr. Meitav will review the powertrain and battery requirements of next-generation extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs), and discuss the merits of advanced microturbine generators and new high-density battery systems for achieving unparalleled energy efficiency and ultra-low emissions.
The annual Eilat-Eilot Renewable Energy Conference is Israel’s largest and most prominent renewable energy conference, drawing business leaders, scientists, regulators and investors from around the world to address the commerce, technology and policy issues affecting energy infrastructure. Conference attendees come together to discuss new technologies and strategies designed to advance renewable energy and energy conservation programs while promoting economic growth.
“ETV Motors believes strongly in our shared imperative to promote economically sustainable, environmentally sound transportation modes that minimize our dependence on fossil fuels and reduce pollution,” said Dr. Meitav. “I look forward to engaging conference attendees in a thoughtful discussion about EREV technology and the opportunity before us to develop a more practical, more environmentally-friendly electric vehicle platform for the automotive industry.”
Dr. Arieh Meitav is regarded as one of Israel’s preeminent electrochemists and material engineers, with more than thirty years of experience in managing interdisciplinary research and development centric to advanced battery technology. Dr. Meitav holds a B.Sc. in chemistry, an M.Sc. in electroplating and electro-analytical chemistry and a Ph.D. in electrochemistry and materials engineering, all from Tel-Aviv University. He has authored more than a dozen patents as well as numerous international publications.
