Plex Systems, Inc., provider of the #1 rated ERP software for manufacturers, has announced that Michigan-based seat mechanism assembler Fisher & Company has selected Plex Online as its software-as-a-service (SaaS) enterprise resource planning (ERP) manufacturing solution provider.
Fisher’s Sterling Heights stamping plant and its St. Clair Shores assembly facility will implement Plex Online in January 2010.
Following that, Fisher’s Matamoros, Mexico facility will implement the SaaS solution before the end of the first quarter of 2010. Plex Systems’ partner Plante Moran is leading the implementations.
Like many manufacturers with global operations, Fisher & Company experienced the strain and inefficiencies of managing a variety of IT systems across all of their sites.
“Our systems were out of date and we initially considered just upgrading those existing systems,” explained Scott Tollafield, Fisher & Company’s director of Information Systems, “then we took a look at Plex Online. Plex Online proved to be the very best solution because it completely integrates accounting, supply chain management, production, and all of the other functions that we’d been managing as separate systems. It also hosts the systems externally and that was a very attractive benefit to us as well.”
“Fisher & Company is wisely using the downturn in the economy as an opportunity to retool its information systems infrastructure to better prepare for the next wave of automotive challenges,” said Tom Mackey, executive vice president, Plex Systems.
“Fisher is a family-owned business built on four generations of manufacturing experience in innovating, continuously improving, and surviving tough times. The company is looking to Plex Systems for a complete solution that will help take them into the future, and we are pleased and proud to sign up for that.”
